Gorgeous Summer Feet at a Bargain Price!

Hey everyone! Hope you have all had a lovely day enjoying yet another day of sunshine here in the UK! With all this sun, i thought it would be time to sort out my feet by giving myself a little pedicure and painting my nails before slipping into my new strappy wedge sandals which i might add came at a very reasonable price! Read on if you want to know a bit more....

So i was in Shoe Zone last week looking for some pumps as my local branch do a huge selection of colours and designs and while i was there, i thought i'd have a look at their selection of sandals/flip flops! Now i've got really odd feet, they're really narrow but also long making it difficult for me to wear sandals without a strap around the ankle as size 6s are usually too wide. I tried a number of pairs on, all different designs and then came across these gems hidden on the bottom shelf! I tried them on and what do you know - a perfect fit! I just love the colour  - tan and white and the stones design on top give it that bit of glamour. I've been wearing these a lot this week and wore them today to work and received quite a few compliments! I love these so much that i'm going to go out and by a brown pair. They're soo comfy as the inner soles are cushioned and as they're wedged, my feet have good support especially under the bridge of my foot which is where i need it as wearing flats for a long period of time,  can sometimes make my feet really painful. I do a lot of walking as i live in London and when i wear these, my feel feel great as if i've been in trainers! The particular range is called Softlites and they do lots of other designs. Who says you can't buy  shoes that are both cute and comfy :)

If any of you have a Shoe Zone near you, you will know that their prices are budget (similar to Primark) and these babies set me back at £14.99 which for them is more the top end of their pricing structure. This is great if you don't have a whole lot of money to spend and you are looking for a bargain!

I also wanted to add that the nail polish i am wearing is also at a budget price of 99p each. It is from the LA Colors Color Craze range in Lightning which is a Neon Pink in the bottle but depending on the light can show as a coral orange. Then over the top i applied Sassy Sparkle :)

So there you have it, my summer feet... i don't get them out very often which is why i thought i'd do a post on them!

You can view the huge range of shoes at Shoe Zone by visiting SHOE ZONE and for LA Colors you can visit LA COLORS. Unfortunately you can't shop online with these retailers but they do tell you where your nearest stockists are.

That's it for now! Where do you girlies like to shop for bargain footwear? I'd love to know :)

Photos Now Up from the 80's Night!

Hey whats up guys!

I just cant get enough of this heat wave we are having here in the UK at the moment, it's just sooo nice! Everyone is in a good mood and the day just seems to go smoother... lets hope it lasts a bit longer!

Anyway, today's post is a follow up from the last post which was all to do with 80's fashion! It was my friend's birthday on Friday and the theme was 80's rock. It was so much fun, everyone really made an effort and there were wigs a plenty! My friend Rachel looked awesome and looked like the younger version of Joan Jett. I tried to go for the more Cyndi Lauper look, girly rock chic! What was fun was everybody injected their own personal style into their costumes so nobody ended up looking the same :)

Check out some of the photos below! There were over 120 pics, it was hard to choose which ones to post haha!

Anyway, i will try to get some more posts up this week, i haven't been blogging so much lately due to time and also running out of products to review. It costs so much money to buy products to write about so i have had to cut my posts down at least until i am paid anyway :) I may have to start reviewing all the products i have in my cosmetics basket at this rate!

That's it for now lovelies! Enjoy your evenings/day whatever you may be doing!

Bringing it back to the 80's!

Evening luvvies

So i hope you have all been enjoying this amazing weather we are having in the UK at the moment! I managed to get outside on my lunch break today and get to the park to soak up some rays! It's meant to last for another couple of days so i'm definitely going to try and make the most of it!

Anyway today's post is all about 80's fashion! Why i hear you all ask? Well one of my besties from back home in Kent is having an 80's rock themed birthday this Friday night and for the last few weeks we have been planning what to wear and how to wear our hair and makeup!

If any of you remember the 80's, it was all about biiiig big hair, lots of hairspray and backcombing, crimping,  bright makeup and brightly coloured clothes/accessories. Nothing really matched and looking back, some of the fashion was just terrible haha but it worked back then! I was just a little kid but i remember my mum scraping my hair up into a big side ponytail to keep up with the current trends.

So i thought it would be fun to post some pictures on here that i used for inspiring my outfit for Friday. I'm so excited, the town of Tunbridge Wells won't know what's hit them when we turn up rocking our 80's rock wear!

What do you think! Pretty crazy huh!

My outfit consists of a purple tartan tutu skirt, purple leggings, boots and for the top i will be wearing a bright pink vest top with a black mesh top over the top and fingerless mesh gloves. Hair will of course be backcombed into a side ponytail and makeup will be purple and black with some purple false eyelashes!

Can't wait to post the photos up on my blog!

Id love if you guys could help me with ideas for hair styling incase my side pony tail doesnt work out and of course ideas for makeup. It doesn't have to be purple, as long as it goes with the purple false eyelashes! I am thinking of using my Sleek Palette, the one with the neon colours?

Look forward to hearing from you!

Look of the Day!

Morning luvvies!

This is just a super quick post before i go to work. Thought i would do a look of the day. This is what i would wear on a normal day to work in the office. It's a fairly natural/nude look as i don't like to spend too much time in the mornings on my face, especially as i usually leave it to the last minute to get up lol ! :)

Products i Used

Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturising Foundation
Soap and  Glory Kick Ass Concealer in Medium
Bobbi Brown Blusher in Soft Pink
Bobbi Brown Sheer Pressed Powder
Naked 2 Palette for the eyes - Shades: Foxy, Suspect and Busted
Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner Pen
Waterline NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
Kiko Mascara
Lancome Juicy Tube (names rubbed off but its like a Strawberry Milkshake flavour)

For my hair i just quickly backcombed into a quick quiff and slung up in a high pony and fixed with Aveda Air Control Spray

Hope you all have a great day!

Peaches and Clean Anyone? Don't mind if i do!

Evening lovelies!

So i've been on the hunt lately for a new wash off cleanser which is more natural based! I didn't want to spend a fortune this time, as in the past i've always used Origins or Aveda. So off i went to my local Boots and had a good look round and stumbled across this gem! I've always liked Soap and Glory for their quirky packaging and their use of ingredients. I'm a big fan of their makeup range so i thought why not put their skincare to the test!

I'm so glad i did because i have literally fallen in love with this cleanser! Here's why ....

About the Cleanser

Peaches and Clean 4 in 1 wash off deep cleansing milk special clogged T-Zone Formula.
Includes Peach Extract ( with skin smoothing fruit acids), Quillaja Bark ( a gentle natural soap), Jojoba Oil ( an emollient skin softener) Detoxy Boost  Technology ( to help purify and deep clean) and Poreshrink R2 ( for a clearer, brighter, fresher complexion)

It comes in a 200ml bottle and a pump so you always get just enough product without overdoing it and the cleanser has been tested on people, not animals which is even better if you are an animal lover like me :) I reckon this product will last me a good 4 months or so, well worth the £7.00 i think!

My Thoughts!

In love, in love, in .... love! And i'll tell you why... it's the scent! It really does smell like peaches and cream.. as soon as i used it, it transported me back to my childhood when my lovely nan used to give me peaches and vanilla icecream for pudding on a hot summers day. If you don't like the smell of peaches or nectarines then you wont like this as its very very peachy! I liked the consistency of this cleanser, nice and creamy, which is great for my dry skin as i can't use anything that foams. It didn't leave my skin feeling tight and it took off 90% off my makeup in one cleanse ( and i use EL Double Wear Foundation) It also leaves a somewhat menthol feeling on my skin and this is because it contains Eucalyptus Leaf Oil, so be careful with the eye area when using. I checked the ingredients and i can see no use of parabens either which means another tick in my box :)

Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk - £7.00 for 200ml
available from all Boots Stockists

Swatch

So in conclusion, i am really pleased i found this cleanser. For £7.00 i think it's such good value, you get so much of it and you don't need to pump too much product for one wash. The smell is divine and it gets rid of all my makeup ( in 2 washes) and doesn't leave my skin feeling tight and irritated. I shall definitely be buying another bottle of this when i run out!

You can also see a review of this Cleanser here on my You Tube Channel - Cosmetics Junkeee

Hope you guys have found my review helpful! Let me know what other Soap and Glory products are worth trying, as i'm thinking about trying their eye cream and moisturisers.. what do you think?

Sulphate Free Shampoo and Conditioner at Drugstore Prices? You have come to the right blog :)

Evening beautiful bloggers :)

So how many of you spend hours on your hair getting it poker straight with your trusty GHDs. Or perhaps you spend a fortune in the salons for a Brazilian Blowdry or if you are like me, have it permanently straightened with YUKO ( my godsend) seeing as i'm mixed race and naturally have afro frizzy hair eeurgh! With all this chemical straightening and constant use of heat appliances, i'm always on the look out for natural based shampoos and conditioners to keep my locks in tip top condition and seeing as i've now finished my 1litre Aveda shampoo and conditioner, i decided i wanted to look for a more affordable alternative.

Shampoo and Conditioner  both at  £6.99 for 385ml from Boots
Swatches. Conditioner on the left and shampoo on the right

Lately i've noticed a lot of natural based products come onto the market but they always seem to come at a high price tag - take Moroccan Oil shampoo/conditioner for example. Until one day, when i was browsing in Boots and i came across this brand - Organix. They do a whole range of sulphate free shampoos/conditioners and the two products i purchased were from the Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy range. I had never heard of them and so went home and did some homework and read up some consumer reviews, all of which were very positive. They also make styling products and a 30 day smoothing treatment which i will definitely try out as it will save me £200 on getting my roots straightened at the hairdresser.

About the products

The products are sulphate free which means you can use this on hair that has had the Brazilian Blow Dry or any other straightening/smoothing process. They contain a mix of antioxidant rich cocoa nut oil along with keratin proteins to help strengthen and soften the hair, while organic avocado oil and cocoa butter smooths the cuticle leaving you with glossy lush straight strong tresses! Sounds good so far, so lets see if it does what it says on the tin

What i thought of the products

Well first thing i noticed was how thick the shampoo was! It's like Jelly, literally. Very strange consistency but once it's mixed with the water and lathered up it's fine! It doesn't lather much but that's because it doesn't contain any sodium lauryl sulphate which is a very harsh foaming ingredient found in most shampoos. If you wash your hair twice, you will find that on the second wash, you will get a lot more lather. The second thing i noticed was the gorgeous smell, it's like coconuts and cocoa butter rolled into one and the smell stays on your hair even after you have blow dried and styled it too which is always good! The conditioner is very thick and detangles my hair nicely, making it feel very silky once it's been rinsed. Even though the products are thick, they don't leave my hair feeling lank or greasy, it just feels very soft and silky, esp after i have used my GHDs. I think the best thing about these products is the fact i am spending less time on using my GHDs in the morning. I found with my Aveda shampoo/conditioner that i would wake up in the morning and the end of my hair would be wavy where i had slept on it, but with the Organix, i am waking up and it has remained straight .. result! And the best thing of all, is they are only £7.99 each from Boots! Bargain!

Overall i'm very pleased with this, i will continue to buy it and am looking forward to trying out their 30 day smoothing treatment. I want to see if it lives up to the hype because if it does, it will have saved me a fortune in hair straightening which means more pennies for me to spend on other nice things ... yippee!!

So, have you ever tried Organix and if so what did you think of it?

Next review will be of the Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean cleanser and the Naked Heat Defence Spray

H&M Holiday Haul!

Hey lovelies!

It feels like ages since i last blogged! I've been a bit poorly over the last week and had to put the blogging on the backburner but i'm back and have lots of posts in the pipeline! I've been meaning to do a little fashion post for a while now, it's not something i usually write about as fashion isnt really my forte, i just wear what looks good and suits me, however i thought it would be fun to do something different from beauty :)
So with this in mind, i took a trip to H&M to do some holiday clothes shopping, woo hoo! I love H&M, so affordable for summer clothes and usually last me longer than Primark clothes. I was on the hunt for some nice casual dresses that i could dress up to look smart or wear on their own for beach days and came across these cuties. The middle picture is actually a playsuit which i fell in love with as you can wear this on a night out and also you could wear this on a hot summers day or on the beach teamed with wedges and perhaps some bangles/long necklaces. I actually wore this on a night out this weekend and got my boyfriend to take some piccies for my blog so you could see what it looks like on. The photos of the garments on the hangers don't really do them justice, as they look so pretty when actually worn. The pink dress is gorgeous with a waist belt, just under the bust. It's fairly short but very floaty and feminine, i cant wait to wear this little number :) Oh and i couldn't resist the hair accessories,i just love wearing flowers in my hair in the summer and on holiday and these are so vibrant! Love love love my bright colours i do =D

Pink and Blue dresses were £7.99 each
The animal print playsuit was £12.99
The hair accessories were £1.99 each

Available online at  H&M

So that's my little clothes haul post! I'd love to know where you like to shop for all your holiday clothes and what your favourite beach items are!

It's pay day whoop! My little haul!

Morning lovely bloggers! It's Friday whoop! And i have a day off work.. except it's not really a day off, i had a doctors appointment this morning, i have then got a dentist appointment in 2 hours and i havent been for 6 years (oops!) then i have to go to the county court after that to sort out some paperwork ( long story - maybe i'll go into it sometime!) So yeah, busy day for me.. ! But as i have an hour to myself on the sofa, i decided to do a post which i've been working on since yesterday!

So on Monday it was finally payday! Payday always seems like an eternity to come round and then once it's been you are wishing for the next one to come round...! So as always, i went on a little haul for things i needed and had my eye on throughout April and here are the piccies .....

Tangle Teezer - £12.29 from Boots. I saw this in a YouTube tutorial and thought it looked interesting, and now my hair is long, it tends to get tangled quite easily. First impression was that it looked funky and i loved the colour and it claims to brush your hair without breaking..well i thought, for £12.29 it ought to do what it says, so in the basket it went. When i got it out the box, i was a little disapointed at the quality..it didnt feel like a £12.29 brush, clearly i had paid for the name. It is very lightweight and quite plasticky...however do not let this fool you! Ive used this in my hair both dry and wet. The ultimate test was through my wet hair. Well it didnt snag at all, and glided straight through my hair without breaking it! It feels nice to use and i dont have to fight with my hair. Overall i still think it is a little overpriced, a paddle brush would be just as good however, this is a great alternative as a portable paddlebrush, i can carry this round with me in my handbag.

Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter - £5.95 from Lush. This is one of my must have products for my nails. I use it as a handcream and carry it everywhere with me. It is made from a Beeswax formula mixed with lots of different thick oils making into a lovely thick buttery cream. My nan swears by this for her split nails and i have to say i agree. The smell is delicious, it is a very zesty lemony scent, very uplifting! I have been using it religiously to mend my poor brittle nails after having my Gel Extensions removed and on a couple of my nails you can hardlly tell i even had extensions on! The only negative with this cream is it does leave your hands greasy, but this doesnt last long once your skin has soaked it up. Just make sure you spend time really massaging it in. A definite staple in my cosetics basket!

Kiko Nail Laquer in 355 - £2.95 from Kiko ( only two Kiko stores exist in London, in the Westfield shopping centres, but you can buy online, see my link in top page tabs) I haven't yet used this colour but will probably use it tonight. Just been giving my nails a rest from the Gels! I love all the Kiko Nail Laquers, they have an amaaaazing range of colours and the quality of the varnish is brilliant. The colour lasts long and isn't prone to chipping. I chose this buttery yellow for the Summer when it eventually decides to happen and also for my holiday in August. I just love bright colours, the brighter the better i say!

Kiko Colour Definition Waterproof Liquid Eyeliners - £5.90 - Black and Metallic Purple. Love these, as they last all day and night. I already have the teal eyeliner which i love as it's so vibrant and i needed a black for everyday use and purple for nights out when i like to wear crazy makeup. Also as i do a little freelancing, its important to have a variation of colours in your kit. I did find that the black eyeliner was a little gloopy but i think that was just me being unlucky as the green and purple are fine. The brush is lovely and thin which gives me great control. I hate it when you end up with a huge thick line that you didn't want. Still perfecting the flicks/cat eyes with this liner, slowly getting there now!

So there you have it, my little haul. I hope you enjoyed reading and please let me know if you have any questions. I'd love to know what you guys use as a good brush and if you use the Tangle Teaser. Also what your favourite Lush product is!

Also, please dont forget to enter my 50 follower giveaway, i need more entries please!!!! :D All you need to do is be a public follower through GFC and leave a comment on the post stating your email/twitter and let me know what posts you would like to see more of or which post is your fave so far :)

My next post will be a review of the Organix haircare range, Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean Cleanser and the Naked Heat Defence spray!

Have a great Friday girls ( & boys :) )
